It’s All About Apple This Week

Leading the Apple buzz is the continuing tablet media frenzy.  My favorite takes on the story:

The hopeful “Apple will save old media” talk in The Wall Street Journal:

“Mr. Jobs is “supportive of the old guard, and [he] looks to help them by giving them new forms of distribution,” says a person who has worked with the CEO. “What drives all of these changes is technology, and Apple has an ability to influence that.”

the alternative “Apple is evil and a profit eating monster” in Forbes:

“Watch out newspaper publishers and movie makers: the man in the black turtleneck is about to take a hefty chunk of your paycheck and give it to Apple shareholders.”

the more upbeat “it’s the ultimate app play toy for adults” at the New York Times:

“But the larger screen — most likely 10 inches diagonally — and other features of the tablet could inspire developers to create new twists on apps, like games that two or more people could play on the same device at once.

and best of all “the most important creation for Steve Jobs” covered by TechCrunch:

“This will be the most important thing I’ve ever done” – Steve Jobs, referring to the soon-to-be-launched Apple Tablet.

As much as I am enjoying all the tablet buzz, I think the late breaking rumors about the end of AT&T’s iPhone exclusivity might end up being the big news this week.

Here is what the Apple Blog, Slash Gear and PC World had to say about that.

It is really all about Apple this week.
