Sabroso Saturday: Sangria Recipe
My friend, Ms Latina, just started hosting a great recipe exchange on her blog- Sabroso Saturday (Tasty Saturday). It’s too hot to cook in DC so I went with a Sangria recipe. Lately, I have decided to go very simple with Sangria. Let wine, fruit and ice do the magic instead of a lot of extra stuff. I think going simple works. It feels lighter and fruitier for the summer. It was a hit at my last diner party.
Ingredients:
- bottle of a decent Rioja or other reasonably nice wine (you taste it in this recipe)
- two oranges chopped- squeeze the orange before you chop it.
- two apples chopped
- 5 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 cups of ice
Let the mixture sit for a while (10+ minutes). Serve each glass with fresh ice. It’s very fresh and nice for the summer without the added stuff.
Experiment with any fruit, even frozen works well. I tried frozen cherries the other day. It was great.
Sorry, we drank it all up before I could take a pitcure. What is your favorite summer drink?
