Round Up: The Buzz & Hunches Around Apple’s Sept 1 Event

Sharing What We Don’t Know! It’s that time again.  Buzz, gossip and just hunches are in full swing as folks get ready for Apple’s Event on September 1.

Here is some of the best of the Apple Speculation out there:

Techcrunch says the large guitar on the event invite points to something involving music:

While Apple will only say that this is a “special event,” the image above makes it clear that just as with their events every September, this one will be mainly about music — or at least the iTunes ecosystem…At this event, Apple is widely expected to unveil (or at least talk about) their new iTV device — the next-generation Apple TV. And they may have a thing or two to say about an iTunes television show rental service….And of course, you should also expect new iPod touches at this event. Maybe some with the shiny “retina” displays and front and back cameras — perfect for FaceTime.”

Mashable says look for new Nanos, and more about Apple TV/ iTV. And 99-cent TV show rentals:

“This year, in addition to a new iPod touch (which we fully expect to come with FaceTime support), there are strong indications that Apple will be launching — or really, re-launching — the Apple TV under the new iTV name. Four years ago, Apple first introduced the Apple TV (then under the name “iTV”) at its iTunes event. Rumors also continue to surface that Apple will launch a 99-cent TV show rental program.”

Appleinsider says Nano is going practically invisible it’ll be so tiny:

“People familiar with the matter indicated that the size and shape of the device, revealed this week through photos of third-party cases, will be more akin to the iPod shuffle than the current-generation iPod nano.”

CNET has a great Apple rumor video with Brian Tong. Saying we can count on iPod Touches with retina display [are yours camera-ready?], better faster iTV and a Nano without a click wheel.

I am sure there will be plenty more of Apple buzz overkill over the next few days.  I am hoping for the Apple TV of my dreams. Or a new iPad that gets on my holiday wish list.

What’s on your Apple Wish list?
