A Spanish Patatas Bravas Recipe a la little effort
I just love Patatas Bravas, which translates to brave potatoes. A traditional recipe is usually fried and served with a tomato sauce. A very tasty dish but takes awhile to cook.
I make a fast Patatas Bravas inspired dish which is simple and it’s a bit healthier because it’s not fried. These are great as a tapas and even good for breakfast with eggs. My kids love this one.
Ingredients:
- 3 potatoes
- 1.5 Tbsp parika
- 1 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- Heat oil in pan
- Chop the potatoes in cubes and cover in the herbs
- Put in pan and cook on high heat for about 2 mins
- Lower heat, cover and cook for about 15 mins
- Sprinkle basil leaves and extra pepper
Serve with a plate of cheese and ham, add some bread and it’s an instant tapas party. Don’t forget the Rioja or make some Sangria!

This is one of my favorite dishes my dad makes with breakfast. It’s so delicious. I’m always running back for more. Every year at a convention I atend they serve it at the “Gospel Brunch”. I have to remember to leave some for others!
